A reflection on the tagline guiding this chapter of my life.
When I chose the name Uncharted Horizons, I knew I was stepping into something bigger than a blog.
This isn’t just about travel. It’s not just about divorce, healing, or even personal growth.
It’s about freedom.
It’s about truth.
It’s about stepping off the paved path—and finally trusting myself to build one of my own.
And that’s where this tagline came from.
Live Freely. Love Bravely. Build Your Own Road.
Each part of it is a declaration of who I’ve become—and what this journey is really about.
Live Freely.
Not recklessly. Not without purpose.
But with intention, clarity, and agency.
This means living outside of other people’s expectations.
It means refusing to define my life by roles, timelines, or anyone else’s comfort.
It means downsizing, simplifying, and choosing experience over status.
It means moving through Latin America with my children and four dogs because I can—because I’m no longer asking for permission to live the life that calls to me.
Freedom doesn’t mean constant movement.
It means alignment.
Love Bravely.
After everything I’ve been through, it would be easy to close my heart.
To protect myself. To stay guarded.
But I’ve learned that bravery doesn’t mean never getting hurt.
It means opening again anyway—from wholeness, not from need.
It means loving myself fully, and refusing to chase or settle for anything less than a love that meets me there.
Loving bravely also means loving my kids fiercely.
Loving the road I’m on.
Loving the quiet.
Loving me.
Build Your Own Road.
This might be the most important part of all.
Because I didn’t just veer off the beaten path—I left it entirely.
I’ve let go of the traditional. The expected. The linear.
I’ve let go of safety nets that weren’t actually safe.
And now?
I’m building something new.
From scratch.
From soul.
This road is uncharted.
It’s uneven.
It’s winding.
And it’s mine.
I’m not waiting for someone to show me the way.
I am the way.
Why This Tagline Matters
Live Freely. Love Bravely. Build Your Own Road.
It’s not just a brand line.
It’s a compass.
It reminds me that I am no longer waiting to be chosen, rescued, or validated.
I’m choosing myself.
I’m living on purpose.
And I’m taking my kids with me—not just across countries, but through a life that honors truth over comfort, depth over appearances, freedom over fear.
If that resonates with you—if you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit into the life you were told to live—
Then welcome.
You’re not lost.
You’re just finally on your own road.
