If I fall in love again,
it won’t be to fill a void.
It won’t be because I’m weary
of carrying life’s weight alone.
It won’t be to be saved, entertained, or rescued.
If I fall in love again,
it will be because someone truly sees me—
clearly, gently, and still chooses to draw closer.
It will be because he brings peace, not chaos;
because he enriches my joy, rather than drain it.
It will be because he’s committed
to his own healing journey,
and doesn’t expect me to carry his load.
But if that love doesn’t come,
I will still awaken each day
with sunlight dancing on my face,
coffee warm in my hands,
and a heart brimming
with my own beautiful magic.
And if I do find love again?
It will be because he is worth
every flame I passed through
in my quest to find myself—
and because I am finally free enough
to welcome the love
I deserve.
