There are only three days left until I leave for Latin America.
Three days until the house, the lists, the routines, the weight of a life I’ve outgrown fades behind me in the rearview mirror.
And what I feel?
Is peace.
But not just peace.
It’s something deeper.
Something in my bones.
Something ancient, still, and sure.
It feels like being high on a drug I didn’t take.
Not euphoric. Not foggy. Just… melting.
My body isn’t tense.
My mind isn’t racing.
I’m not bracing for impact or obsessively running the checklist in my head.
It’s not lethargy.
It’s not sleepiness.
It’s the feeling of not needing to carry anything that was never mine to hold.
It’s the absence of stress—not because the to-do list is finished, but because I’ve stopped giving stress permission to run the show.
This peace didn’t come from a perfect plan.
It came when I let go of the pressure to finish everything.
It came when I stopped trying to squeeze meaning from things that only drain me.
When I decided that some things aren’t worth cleaning up.
Some people aren’t worth understanding.
Some chapters aren’t worth re-reading.
This peace came when I decided that freedom didn’t need to be tidy.
It just needed to be mine.
I feel anchored now.
Not to a place.
Not to a person.
To myself.
Anchored in this dream.
In this vision.
In this quiet trust that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
There’s no forcing.
No panic.
Just deep exhale after deep exhale.
And maybe this is what happens right before you walk into the unknown with your whole heart:
Your body gets the message that there’s nothing left to fight.
That the war is over.
That survival mode has expired.
And all that’s left is this:
A woman on the edge of her new life,
softening into the moment
because she knows she’s ready.
Three days.
That’s all that’s left.
But I’m not waiting to feel free.
Because this peace?
It already arrived.
And now I get to carry it with me,
all the way home.
Wherever that road leads.
Wherever I go next.
This is what it feels like when you stop running and start becoming.
Welcome to the life that was waiting.
Uncharted Horizons.
